Get to Know Us
BinaBears was born from a deep desire to foster healing amongst people who have experienced the death of a loved one while also making room to celebrate the heartfelt memories made along the way. We believe in the power of storytelling and community through the creation of tangible keepsakes that can be held onto forever. Our mission is to provide a comforting, meaningful, and sustainable way to honor your memories, while also fostering a supportive community for those experiencing grief or celebrating significant life events.
How BinaBears Began...
On February 18, 2010 Sabrina watched her grandmother's full transition to heaven. As a way to heal, she started to volunteer for Hospice Care every week for about 5 years. During that time, she learned about caregiving, death, grief, and how to sew memory bears for families whose loved one had passed away. This experience shaped both her personal life and the mission of her business, BinaBears.

Navigating grief and the grief journey is a powerful experience and it is not meant to be journeyed alone. During the pandemic, grief was something Sabrina was not only experiencing herself again, but she was also witnessing many folks go through it as well. On November 19, 2020, Sabrina decided to launch BinaBears where she customizes and handcrafts celebration bears by repurposing sentimental fabrics from friends and families’ loved ones who have passed. BinaBears is here to foster healing through one's grief journey, and to celebrate all aspects of the heartfelt moments we experience.

She envisioned BinaBears becoming something that illuminates what she has embodied and learned to enact throughout her entire life even in the midst of pain; Celebration and Love. The name ‘BinaBears’ is a sentiment to pay homage to her grandmother. The special family name for her is “Bina”. BinaBears finds meaningful ways to commemorate important life events and experiences. These bears serve as unique, tangible keepsakes that honor memories and provide comfort to help individuals navigate the grieving process with a sense of healing and connection to others’ stories.

BinaBears is Sabrina’s way to express love for her grandmother, for her other loved ones who are now in heaven, and for the love she shares for all people. Each bear created is a testament to the gratitude, celebration, and healing that is found when honoring the memories of our loved ones and our heartfelt moments. Sabrina prays that BinaBears will encourage people to be grateful for those celebratory moments and allow their joy to transcend through time in order to use that as fuel to spread love within themselves and to others.
